The Quasimodo Level (QML) is a reversal pattern. Price makes a new extreme, then a body close breaks the last swing against the trend. The old shoulder becomes the level to trade.
Sell QML: high (H), higher low (HL), higher high (HH) into an HTF key level, then a close below the HL is the shift. Sell when price returns to the left shoulder H.Buy QML: the mirror. Low, lower high, lower low into an HTF key, a close above the LH is the shift, buy back at the left shoulder.
The conditions
Step by step
Trend: price is making new highs (for a sell QML).
The new high pushes into a previous higher-timeframe key level, ideally taking liquidity there.
Shift: a body close below the last lower-timeframe higher low. Without this break there is no QML.
Mark the left shoulder (the high before the new high) as the QML.
Wait for price to return to the QML and look for confirmation there.
QMX
QMX = QM + a trendline (X). When a trendline crosses the QML at the same spot price returns to, you have two levels agreeing, which makes the reaction more likely.
Common mistakes
Calling any double top a QML. The shift through the last HL/LH is required.
Ignoring where the head formed. A QML away from any HTF key level is weak.
